Saudi Arabia participates in Dubai's ATM 2011

Saudi Arabia participates in Dubai's ATM 2011 (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) will be launched next Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), will participate with a 525-square-meter space, which is considered one of the largest wings at the ATM. In addition, SCTA will conduct the workshop: “Marketing the Kingdom's Tourism Aspects in GCC."

SCTA aims from its participation this year to present the kingdom as a distinctive destination for locals and GCC citizens, in addition to supporting the activities of accredited local trip organizers, increasing the levels of travel and tourism movements, promoting tourism investment and hotel investment projects, in addition to presenting the kingdom's tourism trends and attractions.

The design of the wing this year is inspired from Aseer's urban heritage, specifically the Rijal Alma area, which lies in the southern part of the kingdom. A number of craftsmen will participate in the wing in which there will be crafts such as decorating doors, furniture, pottery with traditional engravings, in addition to folkloric performances from the region.

The kingdom's wing will also present a number of tourism trends, such as a section for the kingdom's regions, a section for tourism destinations investment, and Saudi handicrafts and folklore, in addition to several documentaries about tourism sites and urban heritage in the kingdom.

Sixteen companies are participating under SCTA's umbrella - (1) Trip Operators: Mawasim Holidays, Tyar Travel Group, Sad Al-Samalgee travel and tourism agencies, Al-Shtewee travel and tourism agencies, Golden Seasons travel and tourism agencies, Fursan travel and tourism agencies; (2) Tourism Accommodation: Hilton, Madina Oberoi, Elaph Group, Al-Reyada Al-Alameeya Company; (3) Hajj and Umra: Dar Al-Mansik est., Dar Al-Eman, Hajeej est.; (4) Exhibition Centers: Riyadh Exhibition Center; (5) Tourism and Geographical Maps: Al-Farsi Geotic; and (6) National Societies: Herfa Cooperative Society.

The Arabian Travel Market is considered one of the major tourism and travel markets in the world. In 2010, 2,236 exhibitors participated with 22 thousand visitors from around the world. This year, ATM will focus on the current state and the future of commercial aviation companies in the Middle East. In addition, a number of specialized workshops and seminars will discuss the trends and challenges facing the aviation sector and the opportunities it offers on the regional and international levels.
