Seychelles launches its "Be Smart Be Carnaval" campaign for travel agents in France

Seychelles launches its "Be Smart Be Carnaval" campaign for travel agents in France ( A new sales competition for the Seychelles Smart Agents (travel agents who are accredited as trained Seychelles specialists) has been launched in France in order to generate sales for the Creole tropical islands during the 2012 March Carnival. Air Seychelles has already confirmed that they will work to support the innovative idea by the Seychelles Tourism Board’s France office.

The proposal will provide the three best sales agents to travel to Seychelles accompanied by their partners for a six-night stay and participate in the island’s Carnival of Carnivals set for March 2-4, 2012. The French travel agents listed as Seychelles Specialists will only have to provide to the Seychelles Paris office their total individual sales and bookings for holiday packages to the Seychelles for the period from May 1 to December 15, 2011. The top three agents will then have their own holiday for two to the Seychelles for 6 nights on half-board basis on Mahe and Praslin islands, inclusive of all transfers.

The winners will be announced during the first weeks of 2012. More information for all the French “Seychelles Smart" agents can be obtained from

Bernadette Willemin, the Seychelles European Director, said that she believes in motivating agents to better sell the islands. “We want them to promote our island’s unique carnival of carnivals, and what better way to encourage them then to ensure they can also be part of the festivities if they sell packages to our tropical islands," Bernadette Willemin said.

On his part, Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has welcomed the innitiative from the European Director as he challenged the other Seychelles offices to also come up with new ideas to get the island’s 2012 Seychelles “Carnival International de Victoria" placed on travel itineraries of holiday makers.
