Merdeka Inflight Dining Experience with Favourite Dishes from the Tunku's Kitchen

It has always been our ultimate goal to bring Favourite Dishes From The Tunku’s Kitchen to the world particularly to all Malaysians as well as international business & leisure travelers visiting Malaysia during our Visit Malaysia Year 2007, as early as the time when we first mooted the idea to compile and to publish Favourite Dishes From The Tunku’s Kitchen cookbook in September 2003. These specially selected recipes of Tunku’s favourite dishes are a combination of many of the well beloved treats from traditional Local as well as Western recipes, it is a sumptuous feast for the senses and a tantalizing insight into the unique rich cultural culinary diversity & heritage of Malaysia, Truly Asia. Food Tourism plays a vital role in boosting tourist arrivals to Malaysia, it becomes the bridge of understanding between the traveller and our local culture & heritage. Favourite Dishes from the Tunku’s Kitchen, a 168-page coffee table cookbook size compendium of private recipes collected, is a fascinating Chef’s journey, with a combination of our traditional local and Western recipes. Most importantly this legacy cookbook is our Federal Hotels International & The Federal Kuala Lumpur’s tribute dedicated to our Malaysia’s beloved first Prime Minister or our Father of Independence, who once described himself as the “happiest Prime Minister in the world”. The Federal Team mooted the idea to compile this coffeetable cookbook in September 2003 to preserve the legacy & well loved timeless recipes of Tunku’s favourite dishes, and hope that all Malaysians & visitors from abroad may also experience the culinary pleasures of the Royal family.
