Kempinski signs new property in the Seychelles, adding new destination to its portfolio

Kempinski signs new property in the Seychelles, adding new destination to its portfolio (Forimmediaterelease.net) Kempinski Hotels, Europe’s oldest hotel group, has recently signed a management agreement for a new property in the Seychelles with the owning company, European Hotels and Resorts Ltd. (EHR), and is scheduled for soft opening in September 2011.

The luxury hotel group, which was recently awarded the prestigious German “Best Brands” award in the category of Best Service Provider, will complement its growing portfolio in the Indian Ocean with a new holiday resort in the Seychelles islands, which comes in line with its ambitious expansion strategy for Africa. “We are proud of this new project, as it will not only add value to our portfolio by marking our entrance in this exclusive market, but also to the destination itself,” said Ulrich Eckhardt, Kempinski President for Middle East and Africa.

The new Seychelles Kempinski Resort will be located at Baie Lazare, on the island of Mahé, home to the international airport and the capital of Seychelles, Victoria, which retains its idyllic beauty with mountains and scores of gorgeous beaches, diverse marine life and astounding botanical gardens.

“Kempinski Hotels has an unrivaled reputation of service excellence in the hospitality industry, and we are confident that our partnership with such a renowned brand will bring new luxurious service standards to the destination. Kempinski Hotels is an ideal partner to support our strategic vision for the Seychelles,' said the European Hotels and Resorts Ltd. representative.

The Seychelles Kempinski Resort will be a 30-minute drive from the international airport and features 173 stylish decorated rooms and suites, most of which boast stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Culinary treats will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a beach bar.

Further key features of the resort will include a long stretch of white, sandy beach, a spa with six treatment rooms, a swimming pool, a kids’ club, fully equipped gym, tennis courts, water sport center, and a casino. Banquetting and conference facilities for up to 200 participants will also be available.

Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board said that he was happy with the confirmation that Kempinski Resorts are now coming to Seychelles. “We are happy to be welcoming a new known hotel chain to our islands. It will be a good addition to the accommodation network we are today offering," Alain St.Ange said.

The Seychelles feature 115 exotic tropical islands, occupying an area of 455km² and an exclusive economic zone of 1.4 million km² in the western Indian Ocean.
