Hamburg: Germany’s second largest city is a premier MICE destination
These are also qualities that make Hamburg an exceptional conference and exhibition city. The CCH-Congress Center Hamburg, located in the midst of Hamburg’s attractions, has recently been renovated to include a 75,000 square feet multi-function exhibition hall and conference area. This modern conference center has expanded its exhibition space to a total of 130,000 square feet. The CCH has more than 43 conference rooms and seats a total of 16,000, including 6,000 in the new exhibition hall. Its compact design makes the CCH ideal for large international conferences accompanied by trade shows.
As the second largest port city in Europe, Hamburg played a large part in the emigration of Europeans traveling to start a new life in America. The BallinStadt, the site of all this activity, has been rebuilt according to its original building plans and is home to a museum complex where visitors from around the globe will have an authentic view of the conditions under which last century’s Europeans emigrated. A special project, “Links to your Roots,” displays lists of all passengers emigrating from Hamburg between 1850 and 1934.
An unusual events opportunity in Hamburg is the newly opened Hagenbeck Tropical Aquarium at the Hagenbeck Zoo. There are some 13,000 exotic animals living in their natural habitats, reflecting an exciting world of biodiversity. Conference goers can experience this exotic world in space accommodating up to 1,000 participants (700 sitting.)
The newly opened four-star superior Empire Riverside Hotels is located in one of Hamburg’s unique locations in the heart of St. Pauli. The hotel features 328 rooms, many with panoramic views of Hamburg, as well as 13,000 square feet of space that can be flexibly combined for events and banquets.
