Futurist Tom Faranda to Reveal Three-, Five- and 10-year Global Business Forecasts
at Travel Show in Aberdeen

LEXINGTON, Kentucky, USA — The educational component at Montage [ www.ntaonline.com/montage ], NTA’s trade show in Aberdeen, Scotland, April 12–14, features futurist Tom Faranda, a global business expert.

Faranda has been revealing accurate forecasts for 20 years, and he has plenty to share with the travel professionals at Montage. “I think they will be shocked at some of the things I’m going to tell them,” Faranda said. “I’ll explain why the EU and the Euro will come to the edge of failure and what that means to the travel industry.”

Faranda also promises to reveal insights on the “new” Cuba, the drastic change in US-Canadian relations in the next five years, and the coming cruise ship impact on travel.

“It’ll be a mind-blowing, eye-opening experience,” Faranda said. “Everybody who’s at Montage can form their own strategy to make money and grow during this incredible period we’re going to face in the next 10 years.”

Faranda, named by Meetings&Conventions Magazine as “one of the most exciting speakers in America,” will take participants on a revealing trip around the world that shows them, by country and with a specific timeline, what is going to happen in the next 10 years that will affect their bottom lines.

His presentation uses detailed global forecasts based on strategic information from senior corporate executives and entrepreneurs from around the world, along with legitimate inside information from government officials and others who are part of each country's network.

The Montage educational sessions also include a presentation by Scott Johnson of Travel Market Insights. Johnson is the producer of the Travel Trade Barometer and one of the leading researchers of US travel trends for both inbound travel to the US and outbound travel by US residents. His session will cover highlights of US travel trends — where they’re going, what they spend, how long they stay — and a forecast of US travel trends for the remainder of 2011 and into 2012. He’ll also discuss travel trends to the UK and host country of Scotland, as well as other top outbound destinations.

Complementing these sessions are two local marketing experts, Dr. Joe Goldblatt and Chris Preston of Queen Margaret University, who will tell attendees how to create a marketing campaign that fits the forecast—concrete ways to make money.

Open to members and non-members of NTA, Montage — a new kind of trade show — is held in Europe each year and brings together travel buyers and sellers from North America with their counterparts from around the world to build business relationships.
