Madrid, August 1st, 2007
Iberia has launched a new service on its web site for customers who are obliged to supply Advance Passenger Information (API) in order to travel to certain countries.

The information forms are now available in English or Spanish, versions in German, French, Italian and Portuguese will be added later this week. They can be used by those who have booked Iberia flight online or through any other sales channel. Initially, this service can be used when the reservation has been made through the Amadeus system, but at the beginning of 2008 it will be available regardless of the distribution system.

The information required by such countries as the United States, Cuba, and Mexico ranges from passport and visa data to the person’s postal address, depending on the regulations in force in each country. In addition, new European Union rules also call for advance information about people travelling in either direction between Spain and non-Schengen area countries.

The new online procedure will expedite operations at the airport, and reduce waiting times at check-in counters, which until now were the only places where the information could be collected.

To use the new facility, passengers must retrieve their reservations and type in their surnames and code numbers in the “Review my trip section” of, or directly access
