HRH Princess Anne visits President's village in Seychelles ( The children of the President’s Village welcomed Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal Princess Anne with smiles, songs, and flowers at their home at Port Glaud yesterday.

The Princess Royal visited the President’s Village as the guest of the First Lady Natalie Michel, who is the patron of the President’s Village and the Chairperson of the Children’s Homes Foundation.

HRH Princess Anne was accompanied by Vice-Admiral Timothy Laurence, the British High Commissioner to Seychelles H.E. Matthew Forbes. and Mrs. Lydia Forbes.

“The children and I welcomed the Princess Royal with much joy. We were very glad that HRH Princess Anne showed a keen interest to visit the village, even though it is undergoing renovation. It was a great honor for us to show the Princess Royal the educational center and the houses of the village,” said the First Lady Natalie Michel.

During the visit of the educational center of the President’s Village, which has recently been completed with the assistance of the government, as well as private donors, the Princess Royal was particularly interested in the comprehensive approach of the programs of activities of the children. HRH Princess Anne was able to witness the way that social skills, character building, and spiritual education are incorporated into every day activities.

“We welcome you to the President’s Village… In our home we live together as one big, happy family, always caring for one another… Today is a very special day for us. We thank you, Your Royal Highness Princess Anne, for making it so special, we hope you enjoy your stay, and we would all love to see you again sometime, said Jean-Michel Vidot, a child of the President’s village, to the Princess Royal.

During the visit, a choir comprised of several children from all the children’s homes around the country, sang songs in honor of HRH Princess Anne, and the Manager of the President’s Village, Jules Hoareau, thanked the Princess Royal for her visit.
