Seychelles brand of tourism encouraging Seychellois to get involved

Seychelles brand of tourism encouraging Seychellois to get involved ( Seychelles is witnessing a renewed interest from the people of the islands to get involved in their tourism industry. Last weekend it was the Godley Family on Praslin who showed their confidence in the Seychelles tourism industry by re-opening their rebuilt beach side Capricorn Restaurant. Miette and Pat Godley have owned and successfully operated The Islanders Guest House on Anse Kerlan at Praslin for many years, but last weekend their pride and joy was to see their new restaurant open its doors with the following words by Miette Godley herself, “We wanted our property to be part of the Seychelles brand of tourism."

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, speaking to the gathered friends and industry colleagues of Miette and Pat Godley and in the presence of the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Adrien, and the Grand Anse Praslin member of the National Assembly, the Hon. Marc Volcere, when he was officially opening the new Capricorn Restaurant said that Seychelles welcomes this new commitment by the Seychellois. He congratulated the Godley family on their new restaurant and said that what they had now done was displaying exactly what was needed when the “Seychelles brand" of tourism was launched. “More Seychellois needed to get involved in their country's tourism industry. This is claiming back our industry, so that together we can consolidate it for the future," Alain St.Ange said.

The Seychelles tourism industry is set to witness a new record in visitor arrival numbers come December 31 this year, and this will only confirm the importance of this industry for the Seychelles economy. “The time to encourage Seychellois to get more involved is now. The time is right, and our industry is working. With more Seychellois involved, we shall all be united in preserving our tourism industry and united in defending our industry. The government is set, and the government is willing to make it easier for Seychellois to get the needed permissions and approvals to join the industry that remains the pillar of the island's economy," Alain St.Ange said before officially joining the Godley family to declare open the new Capricorn Restaurant at the Islanders Guest House at Anse Kerlan, Grand Anse at Praslin.

This ceremony was followed by a blessing by the Parish Prist before Mr. Philip Morel of Burlington Holdings Wine and Spirit Distributor invited everyone to sample the wines from his South African collection. Praslin hoteliers and restaurateurs were especially interested by the price range for the wines on display.
