Seychelles moves on Tanzania with a PR week

Seychelles moves on Tanzania with a PR week (Forimmediaterelease.net) Seychelles will be holding its first week-long promotional activities – the Seychelles Week – in Tanzania next week.

The “Seychelles Week" is set to become an annual event and has been organized by Seychelles’ Honorary Consul based in Dar es Salaam, Maryvone Pool, who is also the appointed tourism ambassador for the country, in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB).

Other partners of the event include Radio Choice FM, Capital Television, British Airways, Kenya Airways, Precision Air, and national airline Air Seychelles.

The week has been put together to consolidate the promotional work in early June with the Tanzanian travel trade, which Ms. Pool had initiated with the support of Seychelles Tourism Board as part of its ongoing efforts to promote the Seychelles islands as a regional destination for East Africa.

The event will be launched with a Creole dinner, which will be held on November 15 at the Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel in Dar es Salaam, with invited guests from the Tanzanian Tourism Board, as well as members of Tanzania’s travel trade, including travel agents and airlines. The local musical group “Zez" and dancers will be present to ensure that the evening is filled with the Creole ambience of the islands.

Other activities for the week will include craft shows, open-air Creole food fiesta, Creole Disco Night at Billcanas Night Club, and a dedicated Seychelles Ngalawa Sailing Race, where the public will also be able to enjoy musical performances from Zez and Tanzania’s local music group, along with fun activities.

Some of the activities consist of raffle draws where the lucky winners will get the chance to visit Seychelles.

With the high publicity through radio partners, banners, and information desks, as well as special wheel cover with the Seychelles logo, the “Seychelles Week" promises to bring Tanzania a sense of the islands and its culture.

Seychelles believes in the concept that “Africa must know Africa" if Africa is to become a strong continent and the promotion of twin-center destinations in Africa is a way for Africa to work together Alain St.Ange, the CEO of Seychelles Tourism and eTurboNews ambassador said.

The Seychelles Tourism Board will be using this week long PR activity in Tanzania to showcase their 2011 “Carnaval International de Victoria" where countries from the “Community of Nations" have been invited to participate with a carnaval float to showcase their respective culture and attractions in a fun-filled atmosphere under the banner of a carnival “that is the 'melting pot of cultures.'"

The East Africa destination is covered at the Seychelles Tourism Board by Sharon Rosalie who also heads the e-marketing department of the Tourism Board.
