TourCrafters’ Off-Season Florence & Rome Special From $749

The 7-day/6-night Florence & Rome Special, for example, costs only $749 from Boston from January 7 to January 31, 2008. From November 15 to December 27, 2007 and February 1 to March 15, 2008, it costs $769. The package includes transatlantic air fare, three nights at the Hotel Meridiana in Florence, three nights at the Hotel Brasile in Rome, a tourist class train ticket from Florence to Rome, a 5-euro discount coupon for Rome city tours, daily buffet breakfast, service charges and taxes. For only $30 per person, an extra night in Rome can be added and for less than $200 hotels in both cities can be upgraded.

TourCrafters also offers extensions for visitors who may want to stay longer and get out of the city. In Tuscany, a two night stay (including daily breakfast) at the Badia di Pomaio, a 4-star hotel with pool overlooking Arezzo, costs $128 and a two-night stay (including breakfast) at La Canonica di Fungaia, a B&B inn in a medieval hamlet outside Siena, costs $151. On the beautiful Amalfi Coast, a two night stay (with breakfast) at the Villa Maria, a 4-star hotel with seaview terraces high above the coast in Ravello, costs $260 and a four-night stay (with half board) at the Villa Romana, a small hotel with swimming pool in Minori, costs $350. Car rentals for these extensions are not included in the price, but are available on request.

Air fare add-ons from other cities are $20 from Philadelphia, Chicago and Dallas, $55 from Washington, D.C., $65 from Detroit, $85 from Houston, $105 from Los Angeles and Seattle and $130 from San Francisco.
