TSA Chief Kip Hawley Appears on TravelTalkRADIO

( TravelTalkRADIO welcomed Kip Hawley, Assistant Secretary for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), to the program Sunday, July 22, 2007. The TSA chief spoke at length with host and executive producer, Sandy Dhuyvetter, about the latest airport screening changes and a behind the scenes look at security considerations and the organization itself. Common lighters as well as breast milk in quantities larger than three ounces will, as of August 4th, be allowed to pass security at airports in the United States. The breast milk issue, one of the most emotional the TSA has encountered according to Mr. Hawley, has now been resolved to be a medical exception and will be treated accordingly. Mr. Hawley also spoke of the caliber and mission of the people at the TSA, the importance of seeking uniformity with TSA's counterparts in other countries, and the wealth of information at the TSA's Web site including security updates and breaking news that might affect the screening process. Additional information and an audio archive of the interview are available for streaming and podcasting:
