Eco-travelers attracted to new hot spot with Green Globe recognition, top ratings on TripAdvisor

Eco-travelers attracted to new hot spot with Green Globe recognition, top ratings on TripAdvisor ( BOQUETE, Panama – Good news for nature lovers and city dwellers in search of tropical escapes from stress, cold weather:

Thanks to clean power and nature friendly policies, Panamas Rancho de Caldera eco-resort received the coveted Green Globe Hospitality certification.

Guests at the Rancho can see hydro-, solar-, and wind power in action. The new hospitality project not only recycles and grows organic greens for its restaurant, it is totally off the grid.

Equine aficionados can explore the region on one of Ranchos eight horses, swimmers love the Ranchos “Infinity" pool with a view, and everyone loves the cozy terraced bungalows that let guests stay connected with free WiFi - a feature not commonly associated with off-the-grid resorts.

Vacationing families with teenagers find a plethora of eco-activities on site and in the Boquete area, which enjoys a spring-like climate year round. No surprise that it attracts expats from the US, Canada, and Europe.

Locals and visitors alike appreciate the Ranchos Madre Tierra restaurant - a new hot spot for discerning slow food gourmets in Panama.

Comments one lady from Florida, “Far fetched as it may sound - for the best French fries in the world – I have to go to Madre Tierra in the Boquete hills.”

And another guest even reports that he cycled 4,000 miles to get here. To read his story click:

(It remains unclear if a craving for Chef Craig’s French fries prompted him to cycle here all the way from Georgia…)
