Two Seychellois elected as representatives of Economic, Social and Cultural Council of African Union

Two Seychellois elected as representatives of Economic, Social and Cultural Council of African Union (Forimmediaterelease.net) VICTORIA, Mahé - Two elected Seychellois representatives of the First General Assembly of the Economic, Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) of the African Union presented their credentials to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Jean-Paul Adam, yesterday, October 4, at Maison Queau de Quinssy.

The two representatives who were selected from within the Seychelles civil society sector are Mrs. Sylvianne Valmont, from the Seychelles Community Training Institute (SECTI) and Mr. Steve Lalande, from LUNGOS.

Also present at the handing-over ceremony was Ms. Patsy Moustache, desk officer for the African Union at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ECOSOCC is a statutory organization of the African Union and among other things, works towards promoting dialogue, forging partnerships, promoting and advocating for civil society participation for culture protection, gender equality, human rights, and the principles of promote peace and security.
