New Hotels add 2,000 Rooms to Shreveport-Bossier City, LA

(Forimmediaterelease.net) The hotel business in Shreveport-Bossier City, Louisiana is booming. With the completion and grand-opening of the new full-service Hilton Hotel in downtown Shreveport, other hotel properties are hoping to cash in on Shreveport-Bossier City’s economic growth, as well. Currently, there are nearly 10 new hotel properties planned for the area. Most are set to open within the next year.
In Shreveport-Bossier City, there are more than 8,400 hotel rooms to date. After the nine new properties open their doors, that number will jump to almost 10,000.
These new properties will vary in size, service and location. Bossier City has two Marriott hotels in the works. One will be named the Springhill Suites and will be at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs. The other will be located at the Louisiana Boardwalk. Both are set to open next year. Bossier City will also be getting a new Holiday Inn. Its open date has not been set.
In Shreveport, six new properties are slated to open. Holiday Inn Express, Candlewood Suites, and Staybridge Suites are all part of the Intercontinental Hotels Group. The same group operates the Holiday Inn chain of hotels. Candlewood and Holiday Inn Express are both set to open in the first quarter of next year. Staybridge is set to open in the third quarter. Homewood Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn are both operated by the Hilton Family. Hilton Garden is slated to open its doors in the spring of 2008 and Homewood will open later that year. Cambria Suites, owned by Choice Hotels International, hopes to be open in January of 2009.
