Kingdom participates in the 13th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) participated in the 13th session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in Alexandria, Egypt, during the period June 2-3, 2010.

The meeting, which was attended by representatives of the Arab tourism ministries and related organizations, discussed many relevant issues, the most important of which were the results of the workshop on development of tourism training education, to conclude discussions of general features of the programs and projects contained within the scope of the strategy of Arab tourism, to discuss an executive working paper for resolutions of the Arab Economic and Social Developmental Summit in the field of tourism, and appropriate mechanisms to support tourism statistics in Arab countries.

The meeting also briefed on the achievements of the Arab Tourism Organization since its foundation, as well as reviewed the suggested mechanism for developing Turkish-Arab cooperation in the field of tourism.

Additionally, the meeting commended the results and recommendations of the First International Conference for Urban Heritage in the Islamic Countries, held recently. Noteworthy, the conference was organized by SCTA and took place in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
