Tourism Exchange focussing on Aboriginal Tour Products

(Forimmediaterelease.net) Indigenous Tourism Conference in Western Australia

The conference depicts one of the most important platforms for the Indigenous Tour Operators in Australia and spotlights one of the world’s most ancient and fascinating living cultures. This year’s Australian Indigenous Tourism Conference (AITC) will be staged from 20. – 23. October in Broome, the tropical pearling town in Australia’s Northwest.

The conference is being presented for the fourth consecutive year by WAITOC, the Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Committee. The WAITOC network was founded in 2000, to support and promote the Aboriginal Culture, as one of the most important and essential aspects of marketing Australia as a tourism destination. WAITOC is committed to securing a supportive and effective business environment for Indigenous Tourism Operators, which offers an opportunity to participate in the Tourism Industry and showcase culturally authentic indigenous tourism product, but at the same time, conserve and protect their traditional lifestyle, environment and country.

AITC 2007 will address the key issues that impact on Indigenous Tourism in Australia and the opportunities that exist, especially in the development; employment and training of Indigenous people and the positive social and economic investment return to Australia and in particular regional Australia.
The four day conference will showcase approximately 200 Indigenous tourism products. A variety of workshops and discussion forums will offer delegates some intriguing insights into the aboriginal cultural lifestyle.
