Seychelles moves on Uganda to pursue concept that Africa must work in synergy to be a strong continent ( TWIN-CENTER HOLIDAYS

Seychelles’ main tourist markets are from Europe, but since last year, the destination has reviewed its strategy in order to also tackle emerging markets. Promotional works have been diversified to new markets and Africa – excluding South Africa, which is also a prime market for Seychelles – has since been tapped through tailor-made marketing activities, as recently seen in Kenya.

The Seychelles Tourism Board has so far initiated two successful workshops in Kenya where the country has promoted the twin-center holiday option, which basically encourages potential travelers to enjoy a safari and beach holiday in one package. They can enjoy the safari in one of their African neighboring countries and then fly over to Seychelles to visit some of the world’s most popular beaches.

Seychelles is renowned for its white sandy beaches, clear blue seas, and slow pace of life, which has seen it rated among the top ten destinations in the world.

With the twin-center concept now successfully penetrating the Kenyan market and producing good results in terms of visitor arrivals, the Seychelles Tourism Board has gone a step higher with its new mini campaign, “From the Big Five to the Best Five."

This new campaign is also aimed at attracting visitors to African destinations to enjoy a twin holiday in Seychelles. The focus of the campaign is to raise the profile of Seychelles among visitors to the African continent and make them aware that the possibility exists of enjoying the experiences of Africa, of which a sighting of the “big five" game animals is a favorite, followed by the Best Five unique selling propositions that Seychelles has to offer.

The new campaign was launched for the first time at the just-ended Arabian Travel Market in Dubai and Indaba trade fair in South Africa.

And from Kenya, the Seychelles Tourism Board is now moving to Uganda to formally introduce the Seychelles destination to travel agents and tour operators. A workshop will be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Monday, May 31 at 0830 hours.

The Seychelles’ delegation at this workshop will include the country’s director of tourism marketing, Alain St Ange; the manager for the Far East tourism market, Sharon Rosalie; the marketing manager for South Africa, Marsha Parcou; and the Seychelles’ tourism ambassador for Uganda, Pearl Hoareau.
