Arabian Travel Market tourism fair in Dubai gives Seychelles maximum press coverage

Arabian Travel Market tourism fair in Dubai gives Seychelles maximum press coverage (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Seychelles delegation participating at the 2010 Dubai Tourism Trade Fair, Arabian Travel Market (ATM), saw the interest for the Seychelles increase through the press interviews and reports. Alain St. Ange, the director of tourism marketing, who is accompanied at this important Middle East Tourism Fair by representatives of local DMCs, Creole Travel Services, and 7 Degrees South, and by the Berjaya Hotels Group, Sunset and Village du Pecheur Hotels, said that Seychelles was becoming more known and the regional press were playing a big part in increasing the visibility of the islands.

The Seychelles Tourism Board's Dubai Office had prearranged a series of press interviews for the Seychelles delegation, which was given an added bonus when His Highness, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chose to stop at the Seychelles stand after having officially opened ATM 2010 and spending time to discuss the best time to visit Seychelles with the Seychelles director of tourism marketing.

“It was an honor for the country to have His Highness and his large entourage choose the Seychelles stand for a stop on his official tour of ATM, and this brought so much press to our stand," said Alain St. Ange.

The Seychelles Tourism Board delegation's meetings included one with Emirates Airlines where it was confirmed that a plane had already been earmarked for the 7th frequency to Seychelles and that it can today be confirmed that as soon as their request is approved by the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority, the SCAA, the announcement to the world will be made at an Emirates&Seychelles Tourism Board joint press conference to make known that a 7:00 am landing in Seychelles by Emirates is daily from everywhere in the world.
Meetings were also held with Etihad Airlines in Abu Dhabi, with Qatar represenatives, and tour operators and investment groups from the Middle East and Asia.

The Middle East remains a region with the biggest growth potential for Seychelles because of the excellent air access that exists and because of the proximity of the Seychelles to the region, with only four-and-a-half hours of flying time from the Middle East to the Seychelles. “We can only benefit with larger arrival numbers from the region if we all join hands and work hard at it," said St. Ange.

The Seychelles director of tourism also used ATM 2010 to present the two Seychelles tourism ambassodors to the press. Emmanuel Marie and Daniella Narty wre both named Seychelles tourism ambassadors based in Dubai, and they have now been presented with their official certificate.

Alain St. Ange and his delegation also spent time with Emirates Hotels to review the situation on hand for their 458-room hotel project at Cap Ternay in the Seychelles. “The project is on line, and the company's representation will be in Seychelles later this year to present to the government the completed plans of the project, which is hoped to break construction grounds next year," Alain St. Ange said.
