In response to the last terror attack in Mareb

(Forimmediaterelease.net) A meeting was held in Sana’a on Wednesday July 11th to discuss the reactions toward the last suicide attack in Mareb. Number of participants attended this meeting representing different tourism authorities and agencies and other relevant organizations. The meeting was headed by the Minister of Tourism. This meeting was dedicated to discuss procedures and measures to be taken to overcome the damages of the terrorist attack that claimed lives of seven Spanish tourists and two Yemeni nationals near Bilquis temple in Mareb province. They also discussed ways of enhancing joint cooperation and coordination between the Tourism Ministry and Interior Ministry to strengthen security protection for tourists and foreign citizens in the tourist areas according to approved security plans.

The Yemen Tourism Promotion Board will execute number of promotional and informational campaigns in the European markets especially in Spain, UK, Germany, Italy, and France. This also includes means of activating the Yemeni participation in the international tourism exhibitions abroad.

In line with these developments, Ministry of Tourism signed on Thursday three agreements for tourism promotion with three European companies. The ministry agreed with the German Kleber Company, Italian TQC Company and French SRL Company to carry out promotion campaigns to enhance tourist awareness on Yemen. In his statement to reporters, Minister of Tourism said that the ministry is discussing with other Spanish and British promotion companies to promote Yemen in their countries, calling on local and foreign media outlets to support this campaign and stand against campaigns that target reputation of Yemen.
