Chinese Travel Weekly carries 12 page editorial on Seychelles days before Expo 2010

Chinese Travel Weekly carries 12 page editorial on Seychelles days before Expo 2010 ( A recent major editorial on Seychelles in the Chinese Travel News Weekly by journalist Judy Zhou, following her recent trip to the Seychelles, which will be widely distributed and which gives wide coverage of all that Seychelles offers as a tourism destination, comes at the right time, just before Seychelles is due to participate at the forthcoming Shanghai Expo.

The article, entitled, “Seychelles – more than unique," apart from listing the many attributes of the islands, also covers the operations of the International Seychelles Financial Centre and International Business Authority, as well as listing various business and investment opportunities for foreigners in the country.

With descriptions of several Seychelles resorts and the amenities they offer, Judy Zhou’s article does much to reinforce Chinese interest in the Seychelles in the wake of President Michel’s 2009 visit to China as the head of a broad delegation to drum up interest in Seychelles among the Chinese media.

“Seychelles and China have enjoyed many years of fruitful relations,” stated Alain St. Ange, director of tourism marketing, “and it is a very exciting prospect that Seychelles will be participating in the forthcoming Shanghai Expo, which will act as a springboard for further collaboration in the years to come and also, hopefully, attract an increasing number of visitors to our shores.”

The comprehensive, “Seychelles – more than unique" editorial will provide Chinese readers with a mine of information on what Seychelles has to offer across a broad spectrum and should prove to be a useful tool in raising the profile of the Seychelles islands among Chinese readers.

President James Michel has been personally involved in getting Seychelles to be more open to Chinese visitors by personally visiting Chine on two occasions, and it must also be noted that the president of the People’s Republic of China has also visited the Seychelles, and these high-level visits in both countries have helped open the doors for Seychelles in the Chinese market.
