Air Berlin Report on air traffic problems
April 16, 2010 in Airline Industry
(Forimmediaterelease.net) The aviation safety authorities have closed many airports and airspace in Central and Eastern Europe from Brittany to Paris, Berlin and the Baltic due to the volcanic eruption in Iceland and the resulting volcanic ash suspended in the atmosphere.
Like all airlines, Air Berlin is subject to governmental and air traffic control regulations.
Virtually all German airports have been closed, and are expected to remain closed until 6 PM. This specifically affects Air Berlin at the following German airports: Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Hamburg, Berlin, Bremen, Cologne, Münster/Osnabrück, Paderborn, Leipzig/Halle, Dresden, Erfurt, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Saarbrücken, Sylt, Rostock, Frankfurt.
No arrivals or departures will be possible at these airports until further notice. We would ask our passengers not to travel to the airport, but to follow their flight status on the “Flight Info” page on the Web.
