Incentive Travel and Conventions Meetings China 2010 promotes China to the world ahead of upcoming World Expo (Forimmediaterelease.net) IT&CM (Incentive Travel&Conventions, Meetings) China 2010 opens today at the ShanghaiMart Expo. Over the next three days, delegates will embark on a comprehensive program that maximizes business and networking opportunities, while enjoying the sights and sounds of host city, Shanghai.

China continues to soar in popularity as a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, Exhibitions) destination. With businesses generated on site, coupled with the occurrence of the highly-anticipated World Expo, these attributes pave a promising future for MICE activities in China. The theme of this year’s IT&CM China, “Bridging the Global MICE Business,” aptly reflects China’s important role as a catalyst and emerging platform for international MICE.

With China projected to be the world’s number one tourism destination and the fourth largest outbound tourist market by 2020, over 230 exhibiting companies and organizations have confirmed their participation to ensure they do not miss this burgeoning China market. MICE destinations such as Xiamen and Chinese Taiwan will be making their debut, along with new corporate organizations from the hospitality and MICE venue sector. The event will also see bigger participation from popular MICE destinations like Macau, Japan, and South Korea.

IT&CM China 2010 has the participation of more than 300 buyers from 39 countries, with first-time buyers hailing from Belarus, Brazil, Israel, Lebanon, Qatar, Slovenia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, and Ukraine. More Chinese association and corporate buyers from across 13 cities are also participating this year. Local buyers from trade associations, such as the China Condiment Industry Association and National Architecture Institute of China, as well as corporates like Bayer HealthCare Company Ltd. and Symantec Software (Beijing) Co. Ltd., will source for MICE services at IT&CM China 2010 to complement their meetings and conventions program.

Sylvia Phua, chief executive officer of MP International, said: “Business opportunities at IT&CM China 2010 will once again transcend boundaries, with buyers and sellers hailing from across China, Asia, and the World. Over 2,000 participants are expected to attend business appointment sessions, trade seminars, as well as social events.”

Apart from business meetings and social events, the program includes:

- IT&CM China 2010 Keynote Address – “Empower your people and business with art of war” by Khoo Keng-Hor, speaker&author, Stirling Training&Management Consultants

- Educational seminars on strategic destination marketing, skilled manpower recruitment and retention, new market creations, recovering and coping with crises, effective event management, negotiation and contracting, staff motivation by injecting fun and teambuilding, new events, meetings technology, and trends.

- Third Future Leaders’ Forum at IT&CM China by IMEX, MPI (Meeting Professionals International) and TTG Asia Media.

Debuting as “Presenting City” of IT&CM China 2010 is Hangzhou. The city will play host to 65 international buyers and media after the tradeshow. The post-show tour will showcase the historic beauty of Hangzhou and its latest offerings as a modern cosmopolitan city. Besides the post-show tour, the Hangzhou Tourism Commission has also committed to a larger participation of over 90 square meters of exhibiting space on the show floor. In addition, it will co-host the Opening Ceremony and Welcome Dinner for IT&CM China 2010.

This fourth instalment of IT&CM China 2010 is organized by TTG Asia Media and MP International. Darren Ng, managing director of TTG Asia Media, commented: “This dynamic partnership combines TTG’s immense experience as the leading organizer and event manager of travel tradeshows in Asia with MP International’s vast expertise and knowledge of China.
