Air Berlin records passenger increase in June

(Forimmediaterelease.net) In June 2007, Air Berlin welcomed 2,172,810 passengers on board of its planes. This corresponds to an increase of 13.9 percent as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, in which 1,908,553 passengers flew Air Berlin. Fleet capacity utilization over the corresponding time period rose by 0.5 percentage points, i.e. from 79.8 to 80.3 percent.

Air Berlin can be proud of its performance this year so far: In the first six months of the year, Air Berlin showed double-digit growth, with an 11.7 percent increase recorded in the number of passengers transported, i.e. from 9,084,659 to 10,145,224 passengers. During this time period, capacity utilization increased by 0.8 percentage points, i.e. from 73.4 to 74.2 percent.

The following German airports recorded exceptional growth in June 2007: Hamburg (+28 percent), Berlin-Tegel (+24 percent) and Munich (+21 percent). Outside of Germany, Vienna took the lead with an increase of 22 percent, followed by Palma de Mallorca with an increase of nine percent.
