Dusit Resort Pattaya Thailand

( Latin American envoys visit green hotel
23 June 2007, Pattaya, Chonburi, Thailand – Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports recently organized a site inspection of Dusit Resort, Pattaya’s facilities with a group of government officials and attachés from the Latin American region.

Dusit Resort, Pattaya’s general manager Chatchawal Supachayanont and the hotel’s Green Leaf Committee welcomed the group led by TICA Director Manoth Suksabjarern. The group visited the 462-room resort to observe the hotel’s facilities with reference to its environmental management and as a hotel certified with “Five Leaves” by Green Leaf Foundation.

The hotel’s Green Leaf committee led by Prawes Akanimart, Laundry Manager, and Lily Eduardcoce, Training Manager, made a presentation of its environmental programs which include energy and water conservation, chemical and waste reduction, landscape and gardening, as well as the hotel’s environmental and social contributions in the community. A hotel inspection followed after the presentation.

“We are proud to be chosen by TICA as the showcase hotel when it comes to environmental management. We are always happy to share our technical knowledge and practical solutions on conserving our resources and improve efficiency in environmental management,” Chatchawal Supachayanont said.

TICA is a division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This program is a part of the ministry’s Buakaew Roundtable International 2007 program aimed at exchanging ideas and increasing ties between Thailand and collaborating countries. Envoys from Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Peru, and Uruguay were invited by TICA to observe the Thailand’s environmental management vis-à-vis its tourism industry.
