Tour de Tuli: August 3-8, 2009

( Herewith an important announcement regarding Tour de Wilderness’ decision to consolidate the Tour de Tuli – Mapungubwe Route cycle event from what was originally going to be split between a first and second departure, into only one.

This exciting event will take place between August 3-8, encompassing not only some of last year’s fantastic areas, but also the southwestern part of Zimbabwe around Fort Tuli, as well as the beautiful Sentinel Ranch.

“While the entries and demand for both departures has been fantastic, after careful deliberation and taking into consideration the current financial crisis, we have decided to consolidate the Tour de Tuli – Mapungubwe Route cycle event to one departure only. The reasons for this include the additional operational costs of the setting up of the infrastructure for the second departure and the possibility of attrition down the line. We, therefore, felt it would be unwise to take the risk in this current environment,” said Heather Wilson, event coordinator.

Organizers have advised that for those with confirmed entries on the second departure on August 4, they will happily accommodate them to August 3. Should it not be possible to amend dates due to prior commitments, participants will be refunded their deposit.

All monies raised, as in the past, will directly benefit Children in the Wilderness, Wilderness Safaris' own environmental and life skills educational program.
