TPOC authenticates Buffalo as approved Heritage Destination
The historic city of Buffalo, New York has met all of the qualifications required by TPOC to become authenticated, giving TPOC travel agents a green light to take travel groups to Buffalo and explore the rich culture of the city and the African American Heritage tourism Buffalo, New York has to offer.
TPOC, the voice of authority on Heritage Tourism, has developed both a 3-level Heritage Tourism Specialist Certification Program for agents and a Heritage Tourism Authentication Program for convention and visitors bureaus, tour operators, tour companies, and destination management companies. A special meeting on the TPOC Authentication Program process will be held at the conference for destinations interested in learning more about the TPOC Authentication process.
The Buffalo Convention and Visitors Bureau has expressed great excitement about being authenticated by TPOC and is anxious to start receiving a greatly-anticipated increase in African American tourism.
Many TPOC agents, who have begun a certification program in Heritage Tourism offered by TPOC, are equally as excited to know that Buffalo is among many destinations ready to welcome groups to Buffalo and showcase well-planned, TPOC-approved Heritage Tourism packages for various minority groups with a special focus on African American groups at this time.
In addition to the many workshops and panel discussions that will be held during the 7th annual TPOC Conference, a multicultural and heritage tourism trade show will also take place. The trade show expects up to forty-five exhibitors to participate and take advantage of an opportunity to meet, greet, and network with minority travel agents and tour operators who may have an interest in showcasing their heritage tourism products. The trade show will begin at 1:30 pm – 5:30 pm on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Adams
Mark Buffalo Hotel, located at 120 Church St., Buffalo, New York. All interested travel professionals are invited to visit the trade show.
