New Jersey hotels offer early booking discounts for summer travel

( TRENTON, NJ – Finding affordable summer travel options just got easier, thanks to an early booking program created by the New Jersey Division of Travel&Tourism that provides discounts at the state’s hotels. Visitors making a reservation by Memorial Day for a stay between June and August 2009 will receive 15 percent off the room rate at participating hotels.

The Early Booking promotion features a variety of resorts, hotels, and bed&breakfast inns, with properties being added throughout the duration of the 10-week program. Consumers who text “BookNJ” to “91077” will receive a text message response linking them to a dedicated page on the State’s Tourism website to view the exclusive offers.

“To help time-strapped consumers book a fantastic getaway to New Jersey this summer, we’ve established an interactive text message program to provide exclusive room rates at some of the state’s top hotels. Visitors who opt-in will be the first to receive updates via their cell phone as new hotels join the discount program,” noted New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells. “This provides a convenient way to stay informed about money saving offers on summer vacation getaways.”

Participating properties include boutique hotels in Atlantic City and Long Beach Island, picturesque bed&breakfasts in Cape May and New Egypt, historic inns in Princeton and Ocean Grove, world-class hotels in Short Hills and New Brunswick, and a spa resort in Vernon.
