(Forimmediaterelease.net) HONOLULU (February 17, 2009): Upon learning that the Hawaii Tourism Authority has decided to forego on the largest travel trade exhibition in the world, the ITB Berlin, the Hawaii Tourism Association (HITA) has announced its last-minute plans to “The ITB exhibition in Berlin is perhaps the single most influential travel exhibitions in the world, next to the World Travel Market in London,” said HITA President Juergen Thomas Steinmetz. “It would be an atrocity I think for Hawaii not to bring its tourism message given the current economic conditions Hawaii’s travel and tourism industry is facing.”
According to Mr. Steinmetz, he is taking measures with the help of eTurboNews Germany and affiliated German companies to bring Hawaii to this year’s edition of the ITB Berlin. “So far, I can confirm that Hawaii will be given some airtime at the ITB Cinema Center Stage,” he said. “HITA will be able to show Hawaii films as well as be given access to do a presentation.”
Further, Mr. Steinmetz said that a Hawaii tourism night and a two-day road trip covering Berlin and Dusseldorf are being planned. “The two-day road trip is an opportunity for interested Hawaii tourism stakeholders to meet with Berlin and Dusseldorf tourism companies,” he said.
