TPOC conference to convene in Buffalo, NY

TPOC conference to convene in Buffalo, NY (Forimmediaterelease.net) The Travel Professionals of Color National Association is moving forward with exciting plans for its 7th annual conference to be held in Buffalo, New York from May 14 – 17, 2009. In view of the present economy, training centered on this year’s theme, “Working together as we move to Higher Ground,” will be a major focus of the conference. The conference will be held at the Adams Mark Buffalo Hotel.

TPOC believes that all is not lost. Traveling to higher ground of profitability, even during this recessed economy, is still a strong possibility. TPOC believes there is a market interested in leisure travel that is willing to pay for the service and counsel of a good travel agent or tour operator.

At the TPOC Conference, workshops, seminars, general assemblies, and exciting industry speakers will be available to share information on how travel professionals can reach that higher ground of profitability selling travel, especially in the area of multicultural and heritage tourism. Travel agents will also be able to earn their first level Heritage Tourism Specialist Certificate.

Travel agents and tour operators at all levels of their career are invited to attend and reap the benefits of the training TPOC will be providing to its delegates.

In addition, travel and tourism suppliers who have an interest in reaching this US$100 billion minority travel market can do so by displaying their products at TPOC’s 7th annual trade show being held during the conference on Saturday, May 16, 2009.

Tourist offices and convention&visitors bureaus who have an interest in generating more business from the flourishing minority market will learn how TPOC members can help increase business for their cities.

More detailed information on the conference program will be forthcoming.

Registration is now open for the conference and trade show exhibit booths. Visit the web site at www.tpoc.org or call (303) 574-9688 or 1-800-901-1259.
