Message from Sri Lanka Tourism : Life in Colombo normal

Message from Sri Lanka Tourism : Life in Colombo normal (Forimmediaterelease.net) A terrorist light aircraft carried out an attack on a power plant, in Colombo just after midnight and in a military camp in Mannar, in the north of the country. The attacks were successfully averted and no major damage has been caused.

A blackout resulted for few minutes in Colombo and at the airport when the terrorists’ air craft were pursued. Two passenger flights, Cathay Pacific and Thai Airways were diverted to Chennai during the incident to ensure passenger safety which is paramount on the agenda in handling such incidents.

The two flights later flew into Colombo and left for their onward destinations in the early hours of the morning. Although delays were caused, airport operations returned back to normal with in an hour and life goes on as usual in the country.

All tourism operations are continuing as usual and there is no cause for alarm.
