Toyota World Junior Qualifier in Trinidad and Tobago

Toyota World Junior Qualifier in Trinidad and Tobago (Forimmediaterelease.net) PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad - Located against the backdrop of the Northern Range Mountains in Trinidad, the St. Andrew's Golf Club will host the Toyota World Junior Qualifier where the Trinidad and Tobago national junior men’s team begins a three-day duel with four other teams for a place in the Toyota World Junior Cup in Japan in July 2016.

From April 6-8, the Trinidad and Tobago team will be up against their contemporaries from Canada, Guatemala, Mexico and Puerto Rico in the qualifying event; among them will be some of the best 18-and-under players in the western hemisphere, and only the top two finishers will advance to the World Junior Cup in Japan.

A spectacular golf course surrounded by exclusive natural architecture, the 18-hole St. Andrew’s Course is familiar territory for the local team that is expected to perform well at this event.

The national team includes Sachin Kumar, the Florida-based teenager who recently won the national open championship, as well as Sol Joanni, who finished third in the open and last week won the Caribbean boys title in the 16-17 years category. The team also includes Liam Bryden, who gained valuable experience on the junior circuit in Florida last year, as well as Ryan Peters.
In the tournament, the best three scores from each team on each day will count towards that team’s total.

The qualifying tournament is being run off with the assistance of the Tourism Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago and the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago.
