"Tomorrow" named best documentary film at the Cesar 2016 Ceremony in Paris

"Tomorrow" named best documentary film at the Cesar 2016 Ceremony in Paris (Forimmediaterelease.net) The 41st Cesar Awards ceremony, chaired by Claude Lelouch and being emceed by the sparkling humorist, Florence Foresti, took place last weekend in Paris. The evening, held at the Theatre du Chatelet and broadcast live on Canal+, was devoted to the best of French cinema. Reunion Region has supported this since 2010 with forty digital and audiovisual film projects.

This proved to be a valuable tool helping to boost the economy and in particular tourism to Reunion Island. Films produced on the island raise awareness of destination Reunion Island, its breathtaking landscapes, and the cultural wealth and general information about life on the island. Supported by Reunion Region under “Reunion, Earth pictures and filming,” were two movies “péi" nominated for the famous Cesar Award:


• “Tomorrow," a humanistic feature film directed by Mélanie Laurent and Cyril Dion, nominated in the category “Best Documentary Film." The shooting took place in nine countries, including Reunion Island.

• “Adama," directed by the studios Pipangaï Port and coproduced by Naïa, was nominated in the category “Best Animated Film" (first animated feature film shot entirely on Reunion Island, directed by Simon Rouby from an original story by Julien Lilti, produced by Philippe Aigle, Séverine Lathuillère, Azmina Goulamaly, and Alain Séraphine).

"Tomorrow" won the Cesar for best documentary film, produced by Bruno Levy.

• The Balzac Tuesday, March 16 at 4:45 pm

• 3 in Luxembourg Thursday, March 18 at 2:30 pm
