Cote D'Ivoire and Seychelles ministers meet during Rabat tourism forum (Forimmediaterelease.net) Roger Kacou and Alain St.Ange, who are both hoteliers by profession, discussed the need for continued togetherness in the Community of Nations for the tourism industry and also spoke about the importance of better understanding of the value of tourism when they met in the sidelines of a tourism forum in Morocco yesterday.

Tourism Ministers Roger Kacou of Cote D'Ivoire and Alain St.Ange of the Seychelles met in Rabat on the sidelines of the Sustainable and Responsible Tourism Forum. Before flying to Morocco, both ministers had been in Madrid for the Spanish FITUR Tourism Trade Fair and had participated in the Security and Tourism Meeting that was represented by 82 countries. Minister Roger Kacou congratulated his Seychelles counterpart for initiating that meeting, saying that security remains today the single biggest unique selling point for tourism destinations.

The ministers’ meeting in Rabat yesterday was to exchange ideas on that Madrid Security and Tourism Meeting as well as discuss tourism in Africa. Last year, Roger Kacou personally led Cote D'Ivoire's delegation to the 5th Edition of the Carnaval International de Victoria in the Seychelles and was the first West Africa Country to fly their flag in what has become a cultural extravaganza with countries showcasing their culture as a means to promote themselves as a relevant tourism destination.

Roger Kacou and Alain St.Ange, who are both hoteliers by profession, discussed the need for continued togetherness in the Community of Nations for the tourism industry and also spoke about the importance of better understanding of the value of tourism. They also discussed the Tourism Sustainable proposal to see National Labels move progressively to Regional Labels in order to have a Continent Label and give better recognition to tourism operators who have moved to become conscious operators in the sustainable development of the tourism industry.
