New Delta service to Bahamas Out Islands launches December 19 with full flights

New Delta service to Bahamas Out Islands launches December 19 with full flights ( NASSAU, The Bahamas – The Out Islands of The Bahamas, which continue to grow in popularity among American visitors, are now even easier to reach as Delta begins new non-stop flights from Atlanta to The Abacos and Eleuthera beginning on December 19.

“We’re excited about the new air service and doubly excited that these inaugural flights are full,” says Honorable Obediah Wilchcombe, Minister of Tourism for The Bahamas. “The Out Islands have much to offer American travelers and having twice weekly flights is a game changer. It will enable more people to get here even faster and see what a paradise these islands truly are. It is our hope that as interest enhances we’ll see additional partnerships such as we have now with Delta.”

The Abacos are a group of inhabited and uninhabited islands and cays that have beautiful pristine powdery white sand beaches and crystal clear cerulean waters that are perfect for both relaxing and water sports. Visitors will also find great fishing and boating here.

Eleuthera is the fourth most populated island of The Bahamas and is also the Pineapple Capital of the world. It is naturally home to the Annual Pineapple Festival that takes place here the first week in June (June 1 – 5, 2016). A long slender island, Eleuthera offers the best of the Caribbean Sea on one side and the Atlantic on the other and is world famous for surfing among other water sports.

These new twice weekly flights starting in December are in addition to the flights already servicing the region from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Orlando and Tampa.
