Sheraton brand debuts in Harbin, China (Forimmediaterelease.net) HARBIN, China - Starwood Hotels&Resorts Worldwide, Inc. today announced the opening of Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel, marking the debut of the iconic Sheraton brand in the capital city of China’s Heilongjiang Province. Owned by Harbin Taihong Real Estate Development Co., Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eontime Real Estate (Group) Co., Ltd, Sheraton Harbin Xiangfang Hotel marks the brand’s 72nd hotel in China, further bolstering its presence in the region.

“The opening of our first Sheraton hotel in Harbin – a key political, economic and cultural center in Northeast China - marks yet another milestone for the Sheraton® brand as we celebrate our 30-year legacy in the country,” said Vincent Ong, Senior Brand Director, Asia Pacific Brand Management, Starwood Hotels&Resorts. “As part of our commitment to growth in the region, as well as the Sheraton 2020 goal of adding more than 150 hotels worldwide within the next five years, we are thrilled to offer our signature brand experience to business and leisure travelers in Harbin, China’s Ice City.”

Harbin is a popular destination for winter tourism, featuring global attractions such as the beautiful Harbin International Ice&Snow festival – one of the four largest ice and snow festivals in the world. The city was also appointed the “City of Music” by UNESCO, as part of the Creative Cities Network, and is host to the popular Harbin Summer Music Concert, which attracts artists from all over the world every August.
