Tourism Australia’s signature incentive showcase

( Dreamtime Buyers and Media experience Adelaide and surrounds on Showcase Day
Day two of Dreamtime 2015, Tourism Australia’s signature incentive showcase for the business events industry, has seen international attendees experience some of the very best of Adelaide and surrounds as they set off on bespoke one-day educationals.
Highlighting South Australia’s close proximity to the coast and prime wine-growing regions, guests visited Port Willunga and McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley, central Adelaide and the Adelaide Hills.
As part of a tour of Adelaide city, Dreamtime buyers from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and Korea met local traders, and discovered the history and vibrancy of the Adelaide Central Market before visiting the Botanic Gardens of South Australia, located in the heart of the city.
Enjoying lunch set under the plane trees in the Gardens, guests experienced the flavour and aroma of a modern Australian and ethically-farmed menu, designed by local Adelaide chef, Paul Baker.
Arriving at the iconic Seppeltsfield Winery, established in 1851 and set in the heart of the world-famous Barossa Valley, Dreamtime buyers from Greater China experienced the historic winery with a contemporary twist, driving around the gardens by Segway, before walking through the vineyard and discovering the estate.
Guests then embarked on a scenic helicopter flight across the valley; offering panoramic views, before landing back at Seppeltsfield to sample a vintage Tawny from the exact year of their birth.
Meanwhile at Jacob’s Creek Heritage Vineyard, guests had the opportunity to indulge themselves in a chocolate and wine pairing experience while listening to local indigenous music.
Dreamtime buyers from New Zealand and the USA, who also visited Jacob’s Creek Heritage Vineyard, immersed their senses in a Food&Wine Sensory Experience, before visiting the vineyard’s kitchen garden where they picked fresh produce. Veronica Zahra, Special Functions Chef at Jacob’s Creek, then worked with the group and transformed their harvest into a gourmet picnic lunch, enjoyed on the estate’s lawns.

Following lunch, guests departed to Chateau Tanunda, where they participated in a game of croquet on the lawns and tasted the Estate’s wines direct from the barrel.
Dreamtime buyers from the UK and India were whisked away from their hotels in style, riding in a fleet of vintage vehicles to the stunning views of Port Willunga. Breaking off into smaller teams, guests enjoyed a game of cricket on the beach, whilst others dipped a toe into the clear blue waters and tried a spot of fishing or got creative in a sand art team building activity.
The group then had lunch at the Star of Greece restaurant, overlooking the ocean, before bringing out their inner-winemaker with a hands-on blending experience at Wirra Wirra Winery in the McLaren Vale. Donning lab jackets, they tasted their way through time with a range of vintage wines, and created the latest vintage of Church Block.
Day two will conclude with the Dreamtime Dinner at the National Wine Centre Australia, where buyers and media will have the opportunity to experience South Australia’s hospitality before heading off on their educationals.
