Local stars meet media at Dreamtime 2015 in Adelaide

(Forimmediaterelease.net) Tourism Australia’s signature incentive showcase, Dreamtime 2015 provided another highlight to attending media yesterday, with 20 international and domestic journalists meeting some of Adelaide’s most passionate advocates during a bespoke experience.

“We wanted media attending Dreamtime 2015 to not just read about Adelaide, but truly get to know it, and there’s no better way to do that than by meeting with the people who call it home” said Tourism Australia Managing Director John O’Sullivan.

After a morning spent meeting Australian industry and Convention Bureaux at the Dreamtime 2015 Business Session, media began their Adelaide afternoon with lunch at Orana, one of the city’s most celebrated eateries. Welcomed by Chef, owner and TV personality, Jock Zonfrillo, media were taken through a degustation menu designed to bring the taste of Australia to the plate.
Highlighting the rich abundance of fresh produce available in the Adelaide region, and Jock’s passion for indigenous ingredients, the menu included kangaroo and local wild herbs.

Following lunch, media were taken on a tailored Adelaide adventure, bringing the city to life through its people, history and culture. First stop was to award-winning restaurant Africola to meet owner Ducan Welgemoed, who took them through his food philosophy and cooking style with practical examples.

Next stop was the Adelaide Festival Centre (AFC) where some of Adelaide’s festival community were on hand to give media an understanding of the city’s exceptional cultural agenda. Douglas Gautier, CEO and Artistic Director of the AFC, Christie Anthoney, Executive Officer of Festivals Adelaide, and Heather Croall, Director and Chief Executive of Adelaide Fringe, invited media to take centre stage and provided updates on the Adelaide’s spectacular festivals including Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe and OzAsia Festival.
