James Mancham, as Chief Minister and then Prime Minister, helped to initially put Seychelles on the map and start the island's tourism industry. Then it was David Joubert who took over the portfolio as the first Tourism Minister. Today, this same industry has become the pillar of our island's economy. Tourism is today enjoying renewed successes, and as Minister it is my duty to salute the work done by Minister David Joubert," said Minister Alain St.Ange.
