WTM in London - Gary Robinson of Cumbria Television (SKY) interviews Seychelles Tourism & Culture Minister on the importance of culture for the islands’ tourism industry

WTM in London - Gary Robinson of Cumbria Television (SKY) interviews Seychelles Tourism & Culture Minister on the importance of culture for the islands’ tourism industry (Forimmediaterelease.net) Gary Robinson, the Producer and Director of Cumbria Television (SKY), Find Yourself in TV and Big Screen Media Services, used the World Travel Market (WTM) 2015 in London to catch up with Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, for an interview that was centered on the importance of culture for the Seychelles tourism industry.

Mr. Robinson, who was in Seychelles in April to cover the Carnaval International de Victoria, has already aired his programs on that visit, and he says loudly that the carnival in Seychelles is a real success where nations come together to promote themselves through their culture as they parade alongside with the great carnivals such as Notting Hill, Brazil, and the likes.

During this television interview at the World Travel Market in London, Minister St.Ange highlighted the successes of the tourism industry of the Seychelles and how the call for the islands to claim back their industry has got more Seychellois joining the industry as the local culture was also positioned at the base of the islands’ marketing. The Minister elaborated on the raison d'être for the Seychelles delegation at this year's WTM saying that it was and remained a process of consolidation for the Seychelles tourism industry and the time to tell the world that sustainable tourism was now the driving force behind the Seychelles tourism industry.

“We are now ready to promote and publicize hotels and resorts who have been accredited with their ‘Sustainable Tourism Label.’ This is not a compulsory initiative, but it is our duty to tell the world about the hotels and resorts who have joined forces with the state to work together to protect what we have been blessed with," said Minister St.Ange.
