Trinidad and Tobago hosts US travel agent FAM trip (Forimmediaterelease.net) PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad - The Tourism Development Company (TDC) of Trinidad and Tobago is giving six travel agents from the United States the opportunity to experience the beauty, splendor and festivity of Divali in Trinidad and Tobago.

The six agents, who represent niche US tour operators and travel managers such as El Camino Travel, Divine Villas and Vacations, Colesville Travel LLC, MJ Travel Group, YPW Travel Services and CAA Niagara, are part of the Recommend Travel Agent Specialist Training Program and will be in Trinidad from November 6 to 12.

Launched in May, 2015, the Recommend program is designed to engage and educate travel professionals on destination Trinidad and Tobago. Key components of the syllabus include accommodations, culture, festivals, cuisine and eco adventure and niche markets such as multi-generational travel, spa and wellness, romance, diving, destination weddings, honeymoons, birding and soft adventure. Travel agents who successfully complete the programme earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards Travel Institute certification.

The trip, which begins in Tobago from the 6th and continues in Trinidad from 9th, was coordinated with the aim of showcasing Trinidad and Tobago’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and cuisine, as well as historic buildings, sites, attractions and accommodation. The trip will also include an immersion into the celebration of Divali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, one of the many festivals celebrated on the island.

Resulting from the trip, the participating travel agents will be better equipped to promote and sell destination Trinidad and Tobago in their respective markets.
