Everybody wins at Mövenpick Hotel Doha
Green Globe congratulates Mövenpick Hotel Doha on its recent recertification for the fourth year running and its outstanding score of 85% against accredited criteria.

In line with its Corporate Social Responsibilities, Mövenpick Hotel Doha works in collaboration with charitable organizations including the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) [ www.ifrc.org/en/what-we-do/where-we-work/middle-east-and-north-africa/qatar-red-crescent-society/ ]. As part of the International Federation of the Red Cross this voluntary organization provides assistance and develops relief programs for victims of disaster. The hotel also supports local groups such as Hope Qatar, a small school for children with special needs.

The property constantly strives to gain greater efficiencies while providing a comfortable environment and facilities for its guests. Mövenpick Hotel Doha uses the Hotel Optimizer management system designed by Green Globe’s preferred Middle East Partner FARNEK to record and monitor all energy and water consumption. Energy efficient lighting, motion sensors and timers are installed throughout the property. And power saving appliances and equipment are utilized in guest rooms and in offices.
To reduce water consumption low flow water faucets, dual flush toilet systems and motion sensors are installed in guest rooms and public areas. In addition, staff attend training on sustainable initiatives and report any water leaks and plumbing repairs as part of the property’s Preventative Maintenance Program. While Green Cards and in-house Mövenpick channel presentations encourage guests to participate in green initiatives.
The hotel consistently investigates and evaluates new practices and procedures to dispose of waste in an environmentally responsible manner. The hotel has a recycling program in place that includes paper, glass and plastic as well as other items such as electronic equipment, computers and batteries.
