Hotels on Praslin in Seychelles adds Creole touch to their kiosks during the island’s Culinary and Arts Fiesta

Hotels on Praslin in Seychelles adds Creole touch to their kiosks during the island’s Culinary and Arts Fiesta ( It was quite hard for members of the jury to choose a winner for the kiosk competition organized as part of the Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta over the weekend.

The Seychelles’ culture was well showcased in the four kiosks, mounted by hotels on Praslin that were taking part in this competition.

Constance Lemuria Resort, Paradise Sun, Berjaya Praslin Resort, and Le Duc de Praslin were the four hotels that were competing this year.

All four had their kiosks well-mounted at Cote d’Or, where most of the activities during the three-day Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta were taking place.

The competition was divided into two categories ̶ most creative kiosk and secondly, kiosk with the best creole touch.

Announcing the winner of the kiosk and culinary competitions on the second day of the fiesta, the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, declared all four as winners.

Members of the jury who had the task of choosing the best ones for the two categories used a set of well-defined criteria.

These included the level of creativity, presentation, Creole aspects, items on display or on sale, use of eco-friendly materials, and innovation.

The four hotels will be presented with their prizes in a ceremony set to be held soon.

Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, Minister St.Ange congratulated the representatives of the four hotels for their hard work and creativity they have invested in mounting these kiosks.

He added that it was pleasing to see hotels putting forth the Creole culture in their kiosks which were indeed four fascinating attractions during the Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta.

Apart from the four kiosks, there were many other stalls that were not part of the competition but were selling tasty Creole dishes, and many items for both the young and old alike.
