This was the third meeting organized between the Ministry and the La Digue organizers. PS Benjamine Rose had but days before met with the La Digue Committee accompanied by Jimmy Savy, the CEO of the National Arts Council (NAC); Rev. Fr. Francis of the island; and representatives of different entertainment groups. This was followed by a meeting between Minister St.Ange, PS Rose, and Hon. Chantal Guislain, the MNA of La Digue, and now a final meeting to confirm all the main activities for this year's La Digue Feast.

Minister Alain St.Ange said that the Committee is looking at the island's annual August 15 Feast and that they are now ready to welcome the thousands who will again travel to the island this year. The Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) will again be broadcasting live from La Passe with their Road Show, and the tent from which they will be broadcasting is already on the island and set up by the Port Office Building. Minister St.Ange said that on behalf of La Digue he has said thank you to Johnny Souris and all at SBC. “We want to thank everyone on the island for their assistance offered to the SBC team. The team at SBC is joining the La Digue celebrations to help make it the success the Diguois expect it to be," the Minister said.

Hotels and guest houses are already all fully booked and many Diguois are now opening their homes to friends and relatives for this August 15 which this year falls on a Saturday making for a long weekend of activities. It is expected that more rotations of ferries from both Praslin and Mahe would be scheduled to satisfy the large number of people expected to travel to La Digue.

A full program of activities will be published soon. Minister Alain St.Ange and PS Benjamine Rose said as they left La Digue that they wanted to say thank you to the La Digue Island Committee for their work and for the commitment for La Digue and for the Diguois community.
