Tourism Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles says Best Indian Ocean Tourism Destination and Best Cruise Destination in the Indian Ocean is the result of safeguarding our environment as we placed our culture at the center of our development

Tourism Minister St.Ange of the Seychelles says Best Indian Ocean Tourism Destination and Best Cruise Destination in the Indian Ocean is the result of safeguarding our environment as we placed our culture at the center of our development (Forimmediaterelease.net) Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, said that the Best Indian Ocean Tourism Award and the Best Cruise Destination of the Indian Ocean Award are achieved when a country's government becomes good custodians of their pristine environment as they place their culture at the center of their development. “Seychelles won and will continue to win these awards, because in Seychelles we care," said Minister St.Ange.

“We care for our environment, and today, we have over 50% of our total land area totally protected as national parks. We have embarked on developing our tourism industry with culture placed at the center of our development. To have culture we need to have people, and by placing our culture at the center of our tourism development, we are in fact placing our people at the center of our country's development," Minister St.Ange went on to say.

He told delegates at the last World Travel Awards that he did not need to dwell on the nice sandy beaches of Seychelles and about the turquoise blue seas, because this everyone who travels or are involved in the tourism industry knows, and that Seychelles continues to be ranked among the best for a sun, sea, and sand holiday, because Seychelles has been able to care about its environment through a sustainable tourism development agenda.

Seychelles is the known dream tourism destination attracting royalty, politicians, stars, and all who form part of the who's who on the world stage. “Today, the world is defined with those who have traveled to Seychelles and the others," said a beaming Minister St.Ange as he was interviewed after pulling these two awards last weekend.
