Seychelles Tourism on the move meeting Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburgish travel professionals

Seychelles Tourism on the move meeting Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburgish travel professionals ( After completing its first successful week, taking the Seychelles destination and its array of products through various cities in France, presented by their island's hotel and airline partners, the Seychelles continues to be a firm favorite among the Belgian, Dutch and Luxemburgish travel professionals.

This was clearly recognized in the successful turnout of travel agents and trade professionals during the events which took place in The Hague, Ghent, Maastricht and Luxemburg. These cities were strategically chosen by the Seychelles Tourism Board France for this year’s edition which took place from June 8-12.

In attendance was a strong delegation of 14 participants comprised of various hotel partners: Banyan Tree Seychelles with Laetitia Duchet, Beachcomber Sainte Anne Island with Koogen Vythelingum, Constance Hotels and Resorts with Virginie Fimbel, Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites with Ash Behari, Denis Private Island and Indian Ocean Lodge with Priska Constance, Desroches Island with Elise Boisson, Le Duc de Praslin with Robert Payet and Derek Savy, Savoy Resort and Spa with Benoit Pillet, and Etihad Airways/Air Seychelles with Olivia Heerenveen, Rimmert Gryseels, and Christine Ozouf, and led by Seychelles Tourism Board France-based European Director Bernadette Willemin accompanied by Marketing Executive Christine Vel.

The events were held in a “train and dine” format, which from its inception has proved to be a most popular format over the years among the attendees - potential and faithful alike. This was clearly seen through strong participation and turnout at all 4 events.

The synergy between the local Seychelles trade partners and the Seychelles Tourism Board in France has contributed to the overall awareness of the destination for the past 5 years resulting in an increase of figures to the Seychelles from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg respectively said Bernadette Willemin, the Director for Europe.

As for Robert Payet, the Managing Director of Le Duc de Praslin, who participated for the first time in the France-Benelux Roadshow, he said: “Le Duc de Praslin is delighted to have participated in the Seychelles Escapades roadshow, and the two-week event has provided our hotel with the perfect platform to showcase what our homegrown, family-owned, authentic Seychelles property has to offer. It is also a timely opportunity to lend our support to our national carrier, Air Seychelles, with its direct flights to Paris as from July 2015. The enthusiasm and reaction from the travel agents has been very encouraging.”

Due to its demand from the local partners and agents alike, the next rendezvous set for Escapades Benelux will take place from June 6-10, 2016.

In the meantime, the Seychelles Tourism Board in France continues its geographical footprint further into Benelux through the various activities planned for the rest of the year, bringing the Seychelles destination into greater focus.
