Tourism Development Company hosts second Culinary Press Trip

Tourism Development Company hosts second Culinary Press Trip (Forimmediaterelease.net) Trinidad and Tobago’s world renowned cuisine will be the focus of an upcoming Culinary Press Trip hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Tourism Development Company (TDC) from 11th to 16th May, 2015.

Five journalists from the United States who represent some of the major international media houses including BBC Travel, San Francisco Chronicle, GlobeTrotter TV, New York Lifestyle and Elite Traveler will participate in the press trip, the second of its kind hosted by the TDC that is specifically geared towards the promotion of Trinidad and Tobago’s culinary niche, with the first being held in 2013

According to Mr. Keith Chin, Chief Executive Officer, TDC, “Trinidad and Tobago’s rich and ethnically diverse history and culture has resulted in the formation of a distinctive culinary experience that cannot be replicated in any other destination. The fusion of the foods from our various cultural ancestors has created our own signature flavor and style that will position Trinidad and Tobago as a culinary destination of choice.”

The itinerary for the trip will ensure that the journalists are exposed to the many food options that are available in the destination, including the widely popular Trinidad and Tobago street food, fine dining experiences and Maracas Bake and Shark. A special Rum and Chocolate Tasting event will also be held in partnership with Angostura Limited, the one of the Caribbean’s leading rum producers and Cocobel Chocolate to further showcase the diversity of this budding niche.

The Culinary Press Trip is one of the many initiatives of the TDC and Ministry of Tourism that aim to further promote the myriad of tourism products that are available in Trinidad and Tobago and that create a unique destination experience for visitors.
