The true essence of Thai hospitality is coming to Doha
From beginnings in Bangkok, Centara Hotels&Resorts has gone on to own and manage 48 deluxe and first-class properties across all of the major tourist destinations in Thailand, as well as a further 25 hotels and resorts in the Maldives, Vietnam, Bali, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Laos, Oman, Turkey and China. Centara properties are known for their diversity and family-friendly ethos, as well as for their integration of a Thai cultural ethos. The graceful and expressive Thai ‘wai’, a prayer-like gesture that can mean “Hello," “Thank you," “I'm sorry," or “Goodbye”, is symbolic of Thai approach to hospitality; subtle, charming and respectful, and retaining spiritual meaning. Centara Hotels&Resorts recognizes the appeal of a Thai approach within their overseas properties, understanding that it is internationally recognized for its warmth, graciousness and aesthetic appeal.
Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited was the first Thai hotel company receive a Royal Warrant of Appointment from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, in 2013, and naturally the company is very positive about bringing Centara’s unique cultural and service assets to the Middle East. “Centara is a Thai company, with its roots in The Kingdom’s society, and the perception of Thai hospitality is a very strong selling point internationally,” points out Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Hotels&Resorts.
The new Doha hotel, with a planned opening in 2016, will feature Centara’s own signature ‘Suan Bua’ restaurant, a stunning Thai concept venue where diners can sample authentic, traditional Thai dishes presented in a contemporary and elegant way. The global popularity of Thai cuisine is just one aspect of how Centara plans to introduce Doha to the distinctive benefits of South East Asian culture. Forming part of a larger entertainment zone, Spa Cenvaree, Centara’s luxury spa partner, will blend traditional Thai-style interiors with the region’s traditional therapeutic ingredients and practices to create a super-sumptuous South East Asian spa experience. Globally, Centara operates 36 branches of the award-winning Spa Cenvaree, together with seven branches of the value brand ‘Cense by Spa Cenvaree’, all of which offer guests the very best of Thailand’s health and beauty regimes.
The Spa facilities at Centara Grand West Bay Hotel Doha, while utterly Thai in atmosphere and attention to detail, will come locally-appealing features, such as male and female facilities and private hammams.
