Seychelles and Zambia value the friendly ties they share

Seychelles and Zambia value the friendly ties they share ( Seychelles values the continued friendship of Zambia. This statement was echoed by Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture, during a courtesy call by Esther Banda, Deputy Minister for Tourism and Arts. The Zambian Deputy Minister for Tourism and Arts is in Seychelles leading her country's delegation at the 2015 edition of the Seychelles Carnaval International de Victoria.

Minister Banda thanked Minister St.Ange for extending the invitation for her country to showcase its culture among the long list of countries present from the Community of Nations. She added that Zambia is currently putting a lot of emphasis on its tourism development.

“Zambia was dependent on copper, but this has changed now that we feel tourism can be a greater asset for the country. Although our tourism sector had improved, more needs to be done for the benefit of our economy,” she said.

Minister St.Ange said that the Seychelles Unique Selling Points (USPs) and that of Zambia can be a win -win for both destinations if marketed as twin-center packages.

“Seychelles has a rich collection of unique selling points, and it has been blessed with a climate that has given it the name of the tourism destination with perpetual summer. On the other hand, Zambia possesses the richness of Africa and its famous Livingstone waterfall. If we work together and if we unite our forces, we will succeed for Zambia, for Seychelles, and show that Africa can work with Africa,” Minister St.Ange said.

Deputy Minister for Tourism and Arts Esther Banda is making her first official visit to Seychelles.
