Seychelles Tourism Board rewards long-serving employees

Seychelles Tourism Board rewards long-serving employees (Forimmediaterelease.net) As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations last week, the Seychelles Tourism Board has rewarded a group of its long-serving employees.

A special ceremony was hosted to give recognition to these individuals who have clocked 10 years, having been with the Seychelles Tourism Board since it was set up in 2005.

The event held at the Savoy Resort and Spa was graced by the presence of the Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange.

Also present were the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Sherin Naiken, its Deputy Chief Executive, Nathalie Didon, heads of the various departments, and all members of the staff of the organization.

Others present were the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune; Chairperson of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Wendy Pierre; and other members, as well as the Principal of the Seychelles Tourism Academy, Flavien Joubert, and Freddy Karkaria, the Chairperson of the SHTA (Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association).

Speaking at the event, Minister St.Ange said it was good to see the Seychelles Tourism Board marking this auspicious occasion by rewarding the members of the staff who have been with the board for 10 years, and some even clocking more years than that as they were working with the Seychelles Tourism Marketing Authority before it became the Seychelles Tourism Board.

“You have persevered to work in this vital industry; you must feel proud to work for this industry as it is the pillar of our economy,” he said.

We need to keep thinking ahead, and to show that we are indeed a needed body, he added.

Addressing those present, Miss Naiken said it surely has not been 10 easy years; there have been challenges but at the same time a number of achievements.

She thanked them for not abandoning the ship even during the stormy days.

Miss Naiken told them to take pride in the work they do at the Seychelles Tourism Board and congratulated them for being devoted workers.

Chairman of the Seychelles Hospitality and Tourism Association Freddy Karkaria on his part had words of thanks and of encouragement for these devoted workers and congratulated them for such an attainment.

A total of 21 employees out of 55 have been working for the Seychelles Tourism Board since 2005, some of whom are posted in tourism offices in other countries.
